These days, more and more people are asking us about recording funeral service details well in advance so their wishes will be carried out and their family spared unnecessary worry about the arrangements at what can be a very difficult time.

Increasingly, people want to pay in advance too, at today’s prices. Paying in advance means the interest gained reduces the eroding effects of inflation and helps to remove the financial burden from your family.

We want you to have peace of mind when you plan your funeral with Forrest Funeral Services. Here are five good reasons why Forrest's pre-paid funerals give you peace of mind:

  1. It helps protect your pension
    Pre-paid funerals are currently excluded from Government asset testing for long-term residential care, so the amount you pay towards the funeral plan does not get assessed as part of your total assets.
  2. Pre-payment helps guard against inflation
    You pay for the funeral now, at today's prices, and the interest gained on your advance payment reduces the eroding effect of inflation.
  3. Who knows what you want?
    You make the choices - the music, the readings, the venue and so on - and we will record these so that your wishes are known when the time comes.
  4. You can still change your arrangements
    Your wishes are carefully documented when you plan or pre-pay a funeral with Forrest Funeral Services, and you receive a copy for your records. However, you are able to change any of these arrangements at a later date if you wish. If the funeral is to be in another town, we can arrange for your instructions to be transferred.
